William Morris' use of birds and animals in his early tapestries is a forebear to his later carpet patterns. This home decor design, one of his most successful compositions, uses a dense cover of trailing acanthus leaves, as seen in his first tapestry 'Acanthus and Vine', into which have been placed Philip Webb's five studies of animals and birds. It is possible that Henry Dearle supplied foreground floral details, although these are similar to Webb's preparatory drawings. Leighton was famous for his medieval and chivalric work, and God Speed is an excellent example. Here we see wall art of a lady bidding farewell to her lord as he goes off to war. She ties a bright red sash to his arm as a token, an act meant to assure his safe return. The gryphon in the foreground symbolises strength and courage. Lady with Fan, also known as the woman with the fan was painted by Gustav Klimt in 1917. The Lady wears a kimono and fan in the Japanese style, and figures reminiscent of oriental tapestry grace the perspectiveless background in a wall tapestry. This Tiffany Studios window was designed as a memorial to the Frank family of New York and was originally installed in a mausoleum of a Brooklyn cemetery. The River of Life theme is prevalent in Tiffany landscapes created for memorials. The years between 1900 and 1910 were the height of ecclesiastical window production for Tiffany Studios and figural windows were in high demand. Landscape windows, such as this example, were an appropriate alternative that provided beauty and nature in such scenes.

Primavera is a large panel painting in tempera paint by the Italian Renaissance painter Sandro Botticelli made in the late 1470s or early 1480s. It has been described as "one of the most written about, and most controversial paintings in the world" and "one of the most popular paintings in Western art".

Jan van Huysum, whose career spanned the first half of the eighteenth century, was the heir to this great tradition of still-life painting and, as far as floral still life's are concerned, its greatest exponent. It has long been called View of Oyster Bay, however, because the scene so closely resembles views from the north shore of Long Island, New York, where Tiffany built his grand country estate Laurelton Hall between 1902 and 1905. In 1978, Hugh and Jeannette McKean gave the loggia from Laurelton Hall to The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York for installation in the light-filled space of the American Wing’s Charles Engelhard Court. At the same time, the McKeans made an extended loan of View of Oyster Bay to the Metropolitan. For almost thirty years, both the Laurelton Hall loggia and this masterfully crafted landscape window have been exhibited together and viewed by millions of appreciative visitors. Today, while the Metropolitan undertakes major renovations of the Charles Engelhard Court, we at the Morse are pleased to present View of Oyster Bay to our Winter Park visitors.

Sea Serpents, sometimes known as Sea Serpents and originally titled Serpents de Mer was painted by Gustav Klimt in 1904. It is an excellent example of the Serpents de Mer series, which made extensive use of the female form made it sinuous and flowing. Here, Klimt makes the women into mysterious, mermaid-like creatures.
