easy to snap together and my cat figured out how to use it very quickly, however i chose to snap the little bit of plastic off the rim of the flap so it swings both ways, so my cat can get out as well as in, she can get out the hole in the top but if you have an older cat with mobility issues they might need a bit of assistance getting out of the box.
