I seen several others using this chair for dining. So that's exactly what we did. Bought 2 of the red. Took about a week delivery from Mississippi to Seattle. Box's were a little tired but chairs were fine. The quality and engineering excellent. Very comfortable sitting. I put them together myself & have a hint for you. Test each screw before assembly. Don't tighten connections until all screws started. That's so you'll be able to wiggle parts to line up holes. I Compare them to a regular Captain's dining chair. Very good value.
