The Gabbeh loom carpet is a handmade carpet that carries bright colours. Mostly you can recognize the Gabbeh rugs by the coarse weaving technique and the animal motifs, which are worked into the carpet. The sheep and goat wool is processed with natural and strong dyes. The Gabbeh belongs to the carpets that were made by nomads and used for several purposes. The Gabbeh carpet is despite the coarse weave / loom a very soft carpet and fits wonderfully in the bedroom, hallway, and living room. The popularity of Gabbeh carpets increased enormously in the 90s.
