Lovely new home for our tortoise. I was worried about the size but I feel its big enough for her. Shes an adult horsfield tortoise. We do let her wander around the house and she has a run in the garden too. It was really easy to put together and looks lovely. We like being able to see her and she watches out at us too, so seems to like it. We fitted the light off to the side a bit . I would recommend as it looks great in the corner of the room.. I love this little hutch and so do the bunnies! It is a bit small for two average sized rabbits so I also bought the pet pen to give them more room. The materials match the hutch exactly. My bunnies chew everything so it wasn't long before they got their teeth into the removable tray and the ramp. I've stuck down some aluminium strips to deter! The product is well made. I had this cage in my shopping basket for some time, this one is a decent size cage for a hamster to live it’s life in, and at a good price, I did wonder about the size of the wheel as hamsters, Syrian hamsters in particular need a wheel of 10-12 inches, I did ask what size the wheel was, Wayfair had great communication in trying to get the answer but was unable to from the supplier, I am happy with my purchase however lost a star as the wheel was snapped and is far to small for even a dwarf hamster which is sad as a small wheel can cause health issues for a hamsters back so would of been nice to have a bigger wheel not sure why the supplier would supply an unusable unsafe wheel, also the house would only be suitable for a baby dwarf hamster, so I have bought a nice large house instead and will look for a new wheel, also I feel like the base could of been a little deeper for burrowing, it has a good amount of space to fill with lots of enrichment. It’s perfect! I mean, it’s not small, but rats need lots of space. Really easy to put together (though the instructions could be a bit clearer) with a bit of patience. Importantly: the space between the bars is about 1cm, so our 3 baby ratties are perfectly safe with no chance of escape! The lower deck is perfect for them to hide away (so if you ever want to see your rats, maybe don’t bother putting that bit in - we got a ‘medium cottage’ from a shop which works well for them and us!) The bottom of the cage is solid plastic, so nowhere for the rats to get their feet stuck and hurt themselves. I spent WEEKS researching cages online and every one I looked at had a problem (wire bases, gaps too big, bright pink plastic, etc) but this one really does tick all boxes. The wheel was cracked on arrival, but that doesn’t bother me because rats shouldn’t have wheels anyway. And the door clasps needed a bit of tightening - found that out when we came down in the morning and one door was open! Thankfully the rats had decided not to break out and we’re safe in their bed. Remember that rats chew EVERYTHING so probably don’t use the plastic food bowl either - get a ceramic one (or two) but the wooden ramps and platforms are safe. My babies also love the little house - all 3 like to snuggle in there together. Excellent cage, worth the price Oh, one last thing - make sure you put the side with the doors on the right way up first time.
