You can put the floor lamp in any corner of the room as you need. This floor lamp is not easy to tip over because it has a stable base. You can keep the direction of light as you like by turning the head of the lamp.

It creates a softer light if you angle the lamp up towards the ceiling, otherwise the light was a bit harsh and it made shadows. Well packaged. Tiny chip at base of one shade but completely hidden when put together. Easy to put together. Problem is the storage compartment in base of lamp for excess electric wire is not ideal, as it requires wire to be folded too much and squeezed into compartment, rather than being wrapped in a circle (like the base of an electric kettle). Exactly what I was looking for, to brighten a dark corner in the kitchen without being too much. I love the fact that the base is rectangular - rather than round - so it fits snuggly into the corner. The power cable also comes out of the base so there's no cabling visible around the pole.
