Debated whether to give 4 or 3 stars. Purchased Dec ‘23 to replace a lantern that had not withstood the test of time. Looks great, but not designed to be easy fitting. I chose the Jezebel Outdoor wall lantern from Dar lighting in large part because of its looks which I have to say do not disappoint. In addition to the looks, the 5 year guarantee played a part as I wanted something that would last. First the positives The finish looks stainless steel looks great (see attached picture) and so far I have no issues with how it looks on the wall. As it has only just been installed, I am not able to provide a view on how robust it is, but it does feel well constructed. Now the not so good Installation could be much easier if it was designed with that in mind. The mounting holes in the circular back are vertical rather than horizontal which makes getting it plumb harder. Adding to this is the fact that the welded posts are not at 90 degrees to the holes, it took a couple of fitting attempts before I was happy that it was straight. Modifying the holes I am sure would have voided the warranty. The most awkward factor in the installation however is the huge IP44 connector block that is clearly not designed to take twin and earth connections with the outer sheath. I ended up stripping it back and using heat shrink to cover the 1mm as it was much better suited to the clamp. Getting the wires into the screw connectors is very fiddly especially if you are needing to use a ladder to fit as many will. Lastly, the size of the IP44 connector block takes up most of the space within the circular back. which. This makes it difficult to attach to the back plate of the lamp without trapping cables. An extra pair of hands and longer knurled bolts while doing this would have been very helpful.. Marissa. Sat Jan 04 2025

Looks good and easy enough to fit. Not convinced that having the wiring terminals at the bottom of the unit and the wiring up behind the unit is very sensible so I have siliconed around the unit on the wall. I hope the bulbs we have don't need changing too often! The glass does rattle in the wind and as not waterproof (IP44) I do not hold out too much hope of length of service. But the Mrs is happy..
