There's a reason why WMF kettles have such a traditional shape: They are meant to heat large amounts of water quickly and efficiently. The characteristic shape features a wide base for a better heating surface and a narrow top to reduce heat loss.

This kettle looked good quality ...however after just 5 months it has gone rusty at the base, water spurts out of the lid when it boils ... making it very dangerous and not fit for purpose.
