The added beauty of the cast iron cookpot is that it can also be used in the oven, and can withstand temperatures of up to 260°c without compromising the quality of the dish. The enamel coating inside the dish also makes the pot resistant to acidic and alkaline foods, which enables you to marinade your meats before cooking, and allows you to place them in the fridge until the time comes that you need them for cooking. The casserole dish comes complete with two easy grip handles either side of the pot that makes the moving of the pot from the oven to the table a breeze. The casserole dish also features a lid with a stainless steel knob that is easy to lift on and off during the cooking process, and will allow for the flavours and heat to be kept inside the pot at all times when cooking. Please note that if you place the casserole dish in the oven when cooking then both the handles and knob of the lid will become extremely hot, and we therefore advise that you wear appropriate protective oven gloves when removing the hot dish. The casserole dish measures 22cm in diameter, has a 2.5L volume capacity, comes in a classic grey colour, and when coupled with the cream coloured inner enamel surface, is a cookpot that will be suitable to be used in any style of kitchen, whether it be modern or traditional. When it comes to the maintenance of the casserole pot it is hand wash only, and needs to be cleaned in hot soapy water before the first use, and then after every subsequent use once the pan has cooled down.

The old rule is still quoted that mussels are only allowed to be served in the months with an "R" in their name. As divided as you may be about this rule, there is one thing we can all agree on when it comes to mussels: They always taste great. And so that the preparation is already the starting point of enjoyment, you need a special shellfish pot with very specific advantages for the preparation of the sea delicacy. Inspired by the shape of a "moule", the design of the cast-iron pot already gives a clear first taste of how it can be used. After opening the lid, all the sophistication of this pot opens up: At the narrow end of the oval, a small area is separated from the large interior by a grid. This area is used to pour in liquids, add spices and test the taste of the stock. This means the delicate mussels do not need to be moved during cooking to make the preparation perfect. Cast iron is ideal for a mussel pot. This material ensures an even distribution of heat across the entire pot. As a result, the mussels are not only heated from below, but the heat comes evenly from all sides. This eliminates the need to stir the mussels as already opened shells can lose their delicious contents. The high heat storage capacity of cast iron also ensures that the heat of the hob can be reduced at an early stage and that the mussels can slowly cook in the stock. Very happy with this purchase. I've needed to replace my pans for some time, but couldn't find the right thing. I didn't want teflon, then I saw this pan and thought I would give it a try. So far it's been great. Absolutely nothing sticks to it. It's very sturdy and seems to heat up evenly. I use it more like a saute pan and the deep sides mean no more oil splatters all over the hob.
