Brabantia Roll Top Bread Bin

I wanted an easily cleanable bread bin to replace my old wooden one which had become smelly after years of use. This Brabantia bin is far superior. Its slimline shape and roll top entry takes up less worktop space yet it is more roomy than my old bin. I bake all my own bread and this is big enough to hold two large sourdough boule loaves with space to spare. Wiping it out is easy.

Nice product. Reasonable quality but nowhere near as good as our previous old Brabantia with quarter circle lid which was a solid long term performer and easy to clean out. This one feels lightweight and tinny by comparison. Difficult to clean because of the reverse on the front base strut where the lid rests. Also a pity that the interior base isn’t scratch proof like our previous one. Only changed because the internal hinge rod lugs were broken and couldn’t get replacements. Expect that it’s down to cost as usual but such a shame that quality seems to have been sacrificed and it appears to be a run of the mill product. Probably look at other makes from now on and won’t buy online again.

Does what it says on the Bin - sturdy and spacious - and looks good

I bought this to replace the one I bought a long time ago because the latch broke. It’s a process to learn that pushing down on the handle does not cause the lid to lift up. Otherwise it’s the same simple attractive breadbox that I’ve loved having in my kitchen.

Well made and the colour matches other items in the kitchen.
