My parking space is surrounded by fence on three sides and sits under an apple tree. After experiencing one round of severe hail damage and suffering through another fall of my car being pelted by apples, I began the quest for a carport and landed on this Sunjoy model. I couldn't be happier. At 20 feet long, it covers my entire Q7, and the width was perfect for my parking space. I can definitely open the car doors on both sides, and parking between the posts is no problem. Speaking of posts, our handyman built concrete bases for the posts because of the slope of the space. One other thing to know: in the blueprint on page 4, the distance from post to post is actually 227 inches (not 229.13 as stated in the book.) It took under two days for two people to construct it, and we're very happy with how it looks. Highly recommend!

I put this up this weekend. The installation wasn't fairly easy. I'm a maintenance guy so I was able to put this up all by myself using clamps to hold things in place. I would recommend getting help but just wanted you to see that it can be done, so it's not extremely hard. It looks great and is sturdy. They give you one hook but I order some more hooks and eye bolts, because there's spots for 4 more....FYI. It takes M6 metric thread for those. You can hang multiple things up by doing so. It will be going through winter before I can fully use it, so this will be a great challenge on how it holds up. Getting the top middle cover on the roof and the screws in was the biggest challenge. You will definitely need some help for that. Also, when putting the long middle roof beam together, make sure the 2 little prongs are facing up as the on the rest of the beam. The roof panels hook to that. Another helpful tip.... when putting the bottom roof braces on, make sure there's a screw on each end. So all four corners should have one. I had to 2 of them in the wrong spot and there's braces that will need to go into those to hold it in place. The instructions doesn't come with any words.... just drawings. Overall it's really nice and I can't wait to use it. Awesome!
