I purchased 2 of these, one for a bathroom and one for the kitchen. These are the reasons why I give them 4 stars: I thought they were brass plated, but instead they look like they are spray painted in a gold color. The little ball feet (while cute) could possibly scratch a surface (like a stained wood table top) if someone were to slide it, instead of picking it up and setting it down. On the positive side, narrow disposable paper towels (the flat bi-fold or tri-fold kind) fit nicely. These paper towel holders seem to be made sturdy though, so that's good! I recommend hand cleaning with just a damp (not wet) cloth and wipe dry. I don't think they would do well at all in a dishwasher or even washing in soap and water, so I would avoid that! I'm hoping they last a good long while!
