arrived quickly and is the perfect height for me. It's light so can be used in the shower but also removed and used elsewhere when needed. So far so good

On the 31st of January, we purchased this 'Probst Shower Chair'. Delivery was fine and everything looked good, albeit I was a little concerned that most of the screws were fitting directly into the plastic of the seat and I was concerned that in time they might strip the threads and then the seat would be unusable. However, that is not why I rate the chair so poorly, it is the fact that some parts of the chair are mild steel and they are rusting. As you can see in the picture of the chair, the legs have a number of holes down the legs to accept the retaining pins used for a variable height adjustment. This allows water to enter the legs during use and this sits in the bottom of the leg. I've taken the unit out of the shower every time after use and been diligent in draining each leg. After a few times of use, whilst emptying the leg, rusty water would drain out. On the last time I did this, the dirty water has stained the shower tray of our bathroom carpet and then was dripping onto the bedroom carpet, where we store said chair. On examination, the foot retaining plate which is inserted into the bottom of each leg, is made of mild steel, i.e. magnetic. All parts should be manufactured from non-rusting metal, overall a poor decision to install mild steel and a major design fault, especially as this chair is sold as a 'shower chair' and that it is going to get wet. It is claimed that 'drainage holes prevent water build up, and with quality metal hardware to resist rust. The frame is made with an aluminium alloy frame and HDPE panel, 4 large suction feet pads to prevent slipping'. Yes the frame is alloy and the seat is HDPE, but not all of the seat is rust resistant, so beware if you lift this out of the shower, assuming you can wrench the suction feet away from your shower floor, rust will pour everywhere.
