We have only awarded three stars because we have some issues with this clock. It was purchased to be located high on the wall above the third mid-space landing of the stairs of a three story house - see photo taken from the top landing. (1) For the first few days the flimsy minute hand kept snagging on the hour hand stopping the clock altogether, which meant it only showed the correct time twice a day! It took several attempts to rectify this. (2) Hanging by its single hook (mounted on the rim behind the 12 o’clock position) the clock proved to be unbalanced in that it swings slightly to the right, making both the horizontal bar between 3 and 9 and the vertical bar between 6 and 12 out of a true alignment. (3) Using a spirit level to make either of them ‘true’ only enhanced the mis-alignment of the other. A comprise was achieved by putting two blobs of blue-tack on the ball-shaped stud behind the rim, located between 4 and 5 and 7 and 8, and pressing the rim against the wall to keep the clock in a position so that the mis-alignment of the horizontal and vertical bars is not so jarringly obvious. Otherwise, we are, so far, content with our purchase.
