The bench looked great when I finally got it assembled. However, whilst the description indicated that it involved self-assembly, it should have made it clear that a drill was required to drill through thick pieces of wood. The item itself is a good and solid table. However it was delivered broken and in pieces, which is absolutely disgraceful and a disappointment. I have had to arrange a return to get it taken away and a full refund. Wayfair need to maybe re-assess who they use for the delivery of larger and heavier items such as this. When it was unpacked the top of the table was broken and cracked all the way across, which must have been no mean feat to have done. It is a solid top, so a fork-lift truck must have run over it in the warehouse or similar - an absolute disgrace. When it was delivered, the packaging was falling off of it, and the delivery driver ran off/disappeared very quickly, so we had absolutely no chance to refuse delivery of the item. Knowing the state of the packaging and the state of the item therein, the delivery company clearly didn't want to engage with us as the recipients. Appalling. I am still awaiting a collection to be arranged to get this broken up item back to Wayfair. It should also be noted that parts of the steel frame were also bent. We can imagine some drama in the warehouse that happened to this item before it got to us, and it was clearly catastrophic. The delivery company however, still went ahead with the delivery. If they were a good company they would have gone through due process and got a replacement, before putting it out for delivery. They obviously didn't care and just wanted to get it off their hands. This is lovely. Just a shame there was a little damage when it arrived. The piece that was broken was replaced very quickly. the metal top had a small dent and there was a chip out of the front of one of the drawers but we decided to live with those as it is an outside piece of furniture. Nice item, not as sturdy as the full price demands,but ok for the sale price, The hinge on the drop leaf shelf isnt good quality and I assume will collapse under weight so I have added my own support there. This is a decent potting bench with a couple of useful features. I first checked the pack contents and all was included. The instructions are in pictogram form and assembly took me no more than an hour without assistance. It's quite straighforward. Although it is made from a softwood I believe with some care it will last for a considerable period. I will be keeping mine under a carport. If this isn't an option for you then I would suggest using some form of cover during inclement weather to ensure its longevity. The metal work top although thin again I expect to last well. This along with the wheels option was the main reason I chose this bench over others. (wooden worktops can soon become difficult to clean). Being able to move the bench around the garden can be particularly helpful. The drawer and storage points are also handy for keeping your most used items and the hooks edition will also be handy. The hight shelf back allows for small items to be 'to hand' as needed. All in all I am happy with this item and was fine with the purchase cost. I am happy to recommend this potting bench.. Neil.
