A fabulous addition to the garden for an 80th Birthday surprise, to an Aunt, Mum, Nan, Sister, Sister in law. A gardening lover who relishes being outside enjoying her own company or with guests for as long as the weather permits. The gazebo has extended the time spent in the garden, shading from the hot day sun or light showers when the canopy is in use. I would like to see fixings included within the delivery box, to enable more stability in our temperamental weather in the Midlands. Fixings for posts to the ground and to walls, it would help stop it being distorted in high winds that could help stop damage to my property or others. The instructions need to be clearer and the diagrams bigger, this would aid the build time. The instructional video is a great asset but needs also to be clearer. The inserting of the cord that pulls open or closes the curtain above, , the joint of the two supports which hold the pulley cord can cause the curtain to get stuck half way. I think the design of the pulley system needs more scrutiny for smoother running by the manufacturers. Turned out nice. Had this professionally installed and mounted the post in concrete blocks to give more stability. The metal pieces itself is lightweight aluminum but when connected together it’s sturdy. Only gripe are the shade connector poles. Their means of connecting could be improved because they slide off & disconnect from one another every now & then but so far holds up well with rain when shade is pulled back. The finished product looks really good. The issue is with the description which lists it as 24ft x 34ft !! Obviously not! Also lists it as canopy only!! Obviously not!! And finally lists it as made from plastic!! Again not ! It's a lightweight metal (maybe aluminium). The instructions are poor, and it is definitely a two man job. This pergola was an experience to assemble. The instructions leave a lot to be desired. Also the unit is 10x10, BUT ONLY AT THE TOP. The base measurement from the center of each support to the next is only 97.83", not 10x12' or 120". In my case it worked out, but if you have to fit it over an area consider getting a 12x12, which would have worked fine for me. I also checked the interior dimensions in the description on Wayfair, and they were only of the top not the bottom. I believe that information should be changed. The unit itself, once assembled is beautiful, but you do need two people for assembly, especially if you can't drill into the concrete. The legs must be stable to attach the top units to them!! We did that job by laying them on the lawn, then putting them in concrete blocks, as you can see by the photo. Trying to do it while up is folly, unless you have four people holding up the cross bars while you screw in the bolts!! On YT it shows a guy assembling on the ground, smart!
