Hedgehogs are welcome guests in the garden. They feed on snails, caterpillars and other harmful insects. Unfortunately, the hedgehog is an endangered species in Europe. In Germany, therefore, hedgehogs are protected all year round by the German Nature Conservation Act. These are all good reasons to support the spiky contemporaries in their struggle for survival. With this special hedgehog dormitory, you offer the animals an ideal winter home in your garden. This allows the hedgehog to survive the most dangerous time of year unscathed. The well -thought -out construction has an extended entrance to prevent predators, such as house cats, from entering. Inside, an additional insulating layer protects against the cold during hibernation, while the elevated position of the housing prevents it from cooling down above the ground. There is also an opening flap on the back, which makes it easy to clean the interior as soon as the hedgehog "moves out" in the spring. The shelter is made of solid beech wood (Fagus sylvatica, main type of wood) and guarantees good weather resistance.
