We use tarp on our wooden Pergola to block out some intense afternoon sun. Works very well. Stays in place. Not to heavy. Holds up to wind.

Purchased as a replacement cover for the 10 Ft. W x 10 Ft. D Steel Patio Gazebo since they do not make one. Although it is a little too big I was able to make it work with zip ties. It is a heavy duty vinyl that seems to be completely water proof.
