The controls work with three customizable presets and an arrow up and arrow down,Once you have the height you want long press the preset you want it to save to. Just watch that your cable lengths can accomodate the height you are going to. Also the control panel sticks out so be careful you dont lean on it by accident and move the height. We provided detailed numbers in the installation instructions to make installation simple. It was reasonably easy to assemble with two people. This is surprisingly good for the price. Sturdy desk, good design, high quality surface finish even though it's fake wood, easy assembly. I was worried about hitting my shins on the shelf below the desk surface, but the desk has enough depth for that not to be much of a problem. The only somewhat unfortunate feature that I found is that the shelf happens to be at a height where it covers up wall sockets that at the typical UK height.
