**ACTUAL NAILS/STAPLES now sticking up from the armrest through the leather after five months. Padding is not hardy enough to protect. Rating lowered.
One month later: Other armrest has fallen off. Anchoring points still attached though so the issue is meanufacture - I'm right handed, it isn't even where I lean! Left armrest still on (but for how much longer...!) and still stabby!**
A few niggles came to my attention before I'd had it for a week. The gaslift judders - pumps up and down with any slight adjustment of weight, even when the mechanism is locked. The attachment of the seat is also a bit wobbly - probably a byproduct of the tilt but slackening/loosening does not stop it rocking from side to side. It also started creaking within a week of setting up - practically doused it in WD40 but it hasn't really helped...! It also doesn't take much to tip it, so I would hesitate to have this in a house with a child!
I would not expect any of these issues for chair that has cost me more than £100, especially knowing I can order one from a Swedish manufacturer for half the price I paid and not have to worry about these things. I advise any buyers to hold on to their packaging and be absolutely sure you're happy before throwing it away - I naively thought I'd be paying for quality, but sadly all I can think about are my issues with this chair every time I sit in it. But at least the leather isn't peeling?
