Umbra Wobble Chess Set

Bought as an office piece. Looks great, fine to play on despite the wobble. From a few other comments, I was concerned that the light pieces would not be different enough in color than the dark, but that is not the case — there is an easy contrast between the two. 

Truly a statement piece! Was purchased as a unique gift for a chess lover! Even if the board is accidentally, jostled, the pieces remain securely in place just like Habro's, toy Weebles that came out in the 1970's with the classic, catch phrase, ""Weebles wobble, but they don't fall down!" The chess board was/is LOVED so much, it's now out on permanent display on our coffee table! That's both for easy access/game play and decor reasons since the design is so clever and all the pieces are lovely. Even non-chess players appreciate the "desk toy" aspect of the set. You won't be disappointed! Thank you, Wayfair! On a side note: we had one flawed (in manufacturing) piece and Wayfair immediately replaced it so our set is now 100% PERFECT! We had the replacement, walnut (darker wood), pawn, chess piece in hand only NINE days later!

Lots of fun! Well made and a very solid weight to each piece. The only thing that I can think of to “improve” is that the white and black pieces are a bit too similar in color. Not a big deal, but I’d prefer the colors of the chess BOARD to be on the respective pieces. GREAT SET THOUGH!

Beautiful chess set, heavy and luxurious feeling. Pieces and board came a tad dusty but that’s absolutely not an issue. After a damp cloth wipe down, gorgeous.
