I like the look of this bookcase very much but when I looked at the item originally it said it came assembled; the green jigsaw motif Wayfair uses to confirm it came assembled was whole with a tick next to it. 'It was a mistake' said the guy I spoke to following the arrival of the bookcase, flat-packed. He said further down the description it says not assembled & that I shouldn't have expected something so large to come entire. In my opinion a three-seater sofa is far bigger than this bookcase but I wouldn't expect it to arrive in pieces.
This bookcase is far, far too expensive for a DIY build. It was hard to build & it took a long time. In a couple of places, after following the instructions & measuring carefully, I found the screws had come through & damaged the inside, & it is visible.
Beware also of the picture showing the bookcase as white; 'rustic', in Wayfair's opinion means lime-washed so next to my pure white desk the bookcase looks like it's been badly painted.
I would not have minded any of these things had the bookcase been a reasonable price, like £150. It's not worth a penny more than that.
It has put me & everyone I have spoken to off buying from Wayfair again.
Have just checked their website & it STILL says the thing comes assembled!!!
