Delbis 223cm H x 222cm W Bookcase

This bookcase arrived on Monday and Wayfair on Wednesday morning expect a review of the purchase; the bookcase is not yet out of the boxes. I must ask why I should publicly express my disappointment or satisfaction - does it benefit me in any way? No! But Wayfair pester me with e-mails to annoy me or to show me that I’m an incapable idiot who cannot change a flat pack into a bookcase within 24 hours. It is now 24 hours later and can say that each of the Anita sections which make up the Delbis bookcase takes two/three whole days to assemble. Which means the Delbis bookcase will take over a week to assemble. Of course this time takes into account the need to drill holes and modify pieces which were incorrectly manufactured, see photo. Not recommended for an amateur - I am a professional engineer with lots of tools to help. The picture shows two base pieces the one on the right has holes drilled into the base which should have been drilled on the top of this piece - I drilled new holes in order to make the piece fit. Not very happy with Wayfair’s quality control. Further when I got into the assembly the instructions what Wayfair have done is use the Anita instructions and then added on the changes for the doors instead of modifying the Anita instructions to allow that the doors need to be installed. The result is that Wayfair’s instructions leave you with screwing from very awkward angles from the front when there is far easier access from the back if the instructions had been modified. Additionally the door hinge recesses had been drilled mis-aligned making it even more difficult. See pic. However Wayfair was very generous in resolving the matter by offering a complete refund.
