These rotate outward when moved. If you then turn the legs upside down you will see that two opposing sides have grooves cut out. This is where the two little bits of wood rotate or swivel belonging to the top when lined up with the legs part, they lock into place. It works better if you assemble it on the floor, top upside down, line up the leg notches with the rotating pieces, let the legs click into place outside the rim from the upended top, rotate the bits into place to connect with the upended top & you should have connection and table is assembled.
