As I want to use in the bathroom as a little stool I thought the fabric was leather and not a silk like fabric which I think will not be suitable for water splashes.

This is a lovely and unique piece with classy high quality fabric. The legs are all centrally positioned which makes it a bit less stable than a conventional stool but this isn't a big problem unless you have small kids who may topple off it!
