The four stars only reflect the size of the chair. It is fine for my purposes, but to my eyes it seems small. For its purpose it is fine. I don’t use my desk daily. The chair is comfortable enough for this purpose, however for long sits, I’d like my back/bottom to stay against the place where the seat meets the back. It slides out a bit. Mind, the chair was assembled yesterday & I only sat in it three times: to test the height with my desk, to show it off to a friend & to assess it again for this review.
My Assistant assembled it & it was completed in no time. However, she said that when assembling office chairs she’s always had to do so twice because the hydraulics never work the first time - as was the case with this one. She said that will take longer because she’ll have to fiddle with it to get it working properly. More money!
There are two scratches near the top of the back of the chair (see pix). There’s but one place where one could have happened on my end - where the tape closing the bag it was in was cut, but actually it looks like the tape was torn & that doesn’t account for two scratches (which look more like slices/cuts). The plastic that I assume covered it has no cuts in it, but, of course it would be packaged to protect the fabric from the act of opening the box I guess I should speak to Wayfair about this. Duh!
Overall, I like the chair, it matches my desk quite well - including the black legs, the middle height is perfect for reaching the keyboard shelf as well as the mouse which, for now, is on the desktop. The seat is comfortable, but not cushy. I’d recommend it for occasional use, but I’m not sure a large person like me would be comfortable using it daily for long periods of time.
