Theko goes back all the way to 1966 with the origin of Franz Keller OHG. The Franz Keller OHG was highly successful with a variety of goods, including stationery, toys, fireworks and oriental furnishings. Due to the success and the ever growing diversification of product groups, the brothers Franz and Theo Keller decided to divide the Franz Keller OHG. Thus, both companies were able to focus on the specific area of expertise. During the mid-70s, communication with India was only by telegram. Theo Keller itself became a legend. Suppliers and customers began to call it THEKO. In 1980 the range of carpets marked the original THEKO collection. Already by 1983, THEKO was known alongside the most famous German carpet brands. At the end of the 20th century, the company consolidated its position as one of the leading companies in traditional area rugs with products from Nepal, China, India, Morocco, Egypt, Persia and Greece and so on. Theo Keller GmbH currently employs about 120 people and achieve a 50 million Euro turnover. The company has established itself as an important partner of leading shipping and furniture stores, chain stores and dealers.
