I have been rescued by these filters several times since I bought this air filter unit a few years back. Every now and then, there is a back draft, and smoke from the wood stove comes into the house. It's the dead of winter, and even the best of regular furnace filters can't handle it. Opening the window in that room is a last resort, letting frigid air into the center of the house, especially with tropical birds in the house. Only these filters, closing off as much of the rest of the house as possible, have rescued us from this nightmare.
